Jeremy has been leading high-performance teams and building businesses for close to 30 years.
Since 2017, Jeremy has built and worked with a portfolio of high-growth and mission-driven companies, including with a handful of well-known venture investors, such as NEA, Construct Capital, Differential Ventures, MHS Capital, and Redesign. His work is typically with BODs, CEOs, and their management teams to strategically align their operating plans with their growth goals. Depending on company maturity, the areas of focus are on finding product-market fit, establishing operating rhythm, organizational structure, customer-centricity, and responsibly scaling the business. Based on his network, he is also able to help recruit and place senior-level sales, marketing, client success and operations personnel in these businesses.
Between 2017 and 2024, Jeremy has helped his portfolio of companies grow their businesses, raise tens of millions in Series Seed – Series C capital to continue their organic growth, or find strategic outcomes for these exciting businesses.
From 2008 – 2016 Jeremy was with Opower (formerly NYSE: OPWR) which was acquired by Oracle for over $620M in June 2016. Jeremy was Opower’s 14th employee and built and ran the sales and all the associated go-to-market teams, for the life of the company--from series Seed, through IPO and then eventual sale to Oracle. As EVP and GM, Worldwide Sales, he led the team that grew Opower from $1M to $150M ARR and signed over $1.25 Billion in SaaS contracts over his 8 years. Prior to Oracle buying the Opower business, Jeremy grew his GTM team to close to 100, and he was the senior executive responsible for not only the company’s worldwide topline, but also the overall operations in Singapore, Tokyo, and London with P&L responsibility. Jeremy was a Section 16 Officer of the company, on the executive management team during his tenure, and instrumental in the strategic decisions of the company including the various venture and IPO financings.
Prior to joining Opower, Jeremy was an executive in the Viisage Secure Credentialing business at L-1 Identity Solutions (formerly NYSE:ID, acquired by Safran Group and BAE Systems). While there, Jeremy held a series of positions including VP Sales and Business Development and VP Marketing and Strategy. Jeremy’s team was critical in the division's rapid growth from $60M to more than $100M in annual revenue through expanded direct and channel sales, and M&A. Just before leaving L-1 to join Opower, Jeremy led the acquisition of his main competitor, Digimarc (formerly NASD: DMRC), which added a $125M revenue business to the L-1 portfolio. Jeremy also held a business development leadership role at Art Technology Group (formerly NASD: ARTG, acquired by Oracle), and was a founding team member at InvestorTree.com: both companies developed and honed Jeremy’s experience in bringing new products and services to the market.
Earlier in his career, Jeremy was a Special Operations Officer in the U.S. Navy, where he served as a member of Reserve Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit Two, amongst other fleet assignments with USS WASP (LHD-1) and USS GUAM (LPH-9). He completed his Naval Service with the rank of Lieutenant. Jeremy received his BA in Economics from Stanford University (’96) and his MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management (’04), where he was a Dupont Scholar.
Jeremy lives in Washington, DC and can mostly be found spending quality time with his wife, three daughters, and two dogs.
